Hi, I’m Professor "Bee" Nance — CPA, professor, speaker, and proud accounting translator! With over 15 years in the world of accounting, budgeting, and nonprofit finance, I turn complex money talk into something everyone can understand (and maybe even enjoy).

By day, I’m a Chief Financial & Administrative Officer. By night, I’m in professor mode — teaching accounting, mentoring future CPAs, and creating content that helps students feel seen, supported, and ready to conquer their financial life.

I’m also the founder of The Rising Sunny and the author of Sunny Gets Money, a joyful, storybook-style financial literacy tool that follows 9-year-old Sunny on a fun, rhythmic journey through spending, saving, and sharing money.

On YouTube, you’ll find me as “Professor Nance – The Accounting Translator”, where I break down debits and credits in plain language, with a little rhythm and a lot of heart.

Over the years, I’ve been honored as one of the Top 50 Women in Accounting, a 40 Under 40 Black CPA, and the recipient of the 2023 Young Leader Award from the Texas Women’s Foundation — and I’m just getting started.

When I’m not deep in spreadsheets or lesson plans, you’ll probably find me singing, baking, learning guitar, or dropping random phrases in French.

I’m a proud North Carolina native and an even prouder Aggie (shoutout to NC A&T State University!). I live in Houston with my husband and our two amazing boys.
